How it works

What this site is, and what it is not

North Houston AC Repair is not an HVAC company. It is the shortest honest path between a homeowner whose AC has a problem and one independent HVAC contractor who works in that town.

An AC that quits in a Houston July is not a maintenance question, it is an emergency, and the market knows it. Lead-selling sites pass your number to five companies at once. Some outfits send a salesman to a repair call. And the one thing that actually protects you, the Texas licence that HVAC work legally requires, is the thing nobody tells you how to check.

So this site does one thing. You describe the problem and say where the house is. We pass that to a single independent HVAC contractor who already works in your part of north Houston, and he contacts you directly. He does the inspection, the estimate and the work, under his own name, his own insurance and his own warranty. We are not involved in any of that, and we do not take a cut of the job.

The four steps

  1. Tell us what the system is doing. Warm air, running constantly, ice on the line, water on the floor, a noise, or a unit past fifteen years. The form takes a minute.
  2. We match the house to one contractor. One independent, Texas-licensed HVAC contractor working in your town, never a list of five. He gets your details, nobody else does.
  3. He contacts you and looks at the system. He diagnoses it, tells you whether it is a repair or a replacement, and gives you his own written price.
  4. You decide. There is no obligation. If you do not want the work done, say so. You deal with him directly from there.

What we will not do

  • Sell your details to a list of companies. One request, one contractor.
  • Quote a price. Any number comes from the contractor, in writing, after he has seen the AC.
  • Pretend to be the contractor. He works under his own name and you deal with him directly.
  • Charge you anything. Being connected costs nothing and carries no obligation.

Before any work starts

  • Ask for his TDLR air conditioning and refrigeration contractor licence number. Texas requires one for this work and it must appear on his advertising and vehicle.
  • Check the number on the TDLR licence search before any work starts. It takes a minute.
  • Ask for his general liability insurance certificate and read the dates.
  • Get the diagnosis and the price in writing before the repair, and the equipment by make, model and SEER2 rating before any replacement.
  • For a replacement, ask whether a permit is needed at your address and who pulls it. In most of the area it is the contractor.

Who runs this

North Houston AC Repair is operated by Secure Layer HQ LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste 100, Sheridan, WY 82801. That is a registered office, not a service address: nobody is sent out from Wyoming. Questions about the site itself go through the contact page.
